Like me, many of you may have been feeling the absence of Dr. Chevonne Dayboll, who has temporarily taken a Research Analyst assignment with OMAFRA. To help fill the gap, we welcome Sophie Krolikowski, who will be the Acting Greenhouse Floriculture Specialist until June 2023.

To learn more about Sophie, and how to contact her, keep reading.

Sophie has a BSc in agriculture and environmental science from McGill University with a specialization in environmental biology and plant biology.

She also holds a Master’s of Environment and Sustainability from Western University, and has recently acted as OMAFRA’s Cereal Crop Specialist.

In addition, Sophie has more than five years’ experience as a Research Technician with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) where she worked on plant-insect interactions in a greenhouse environment.

Sophie will be covering all issues related to greenhouse floriculture production, including nutrient and environmental issues, energy, lighting and labour concerns.

You can reach her at: or 226-962-6710.
