MSU Extension has updated a 16 page guide to biocontrol agents that are commercially available to control greenhouse pests.
Developed in collaboration with Kansas State University and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, this fantastic resource includes pictures of each organism, their active temperature ranges, and key facts that will help growers find success using biological control. Read on to download your copy now!
This bulletin is free and can be downloaded from the MSU Extension website at: Commercially Available Biological Control Agents for Greenhouse Insect and Mite Pests. It is in a standard 8.5-inch by 11-inch format so that growers can laminate and bind the bulletin for use as a training tool or a resource in the greenhouse.
You can also view it and download it here:
(Note that with any resource, mistakes happen! Dicyphus hesperus and Amblyseius degenerans are listed as being available in Canada only, but these are widely available in the U.S. As for some of the new biocontrol agents, like Anystis and the American hoverfly, things are constantly changing. Check with your local distributor to see if these are available yet in your state).
Special thanks to the biocontrol companies that supplied us with excellent pictures!
