Are you a Canadian greenhouse ornamental grower? Then the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre is currently looking for your feed back on your pest management practices. Whether you practice biocontrol or lean more heavily into chemical control, your answers help set benchmarks for where are industry is at, and help guide research needs.
The survey only takes about 15 minutes, and can be accessed here. The deadline for the survey has been extended to January 21st, and you can win $400 prize for completing it. (How often can you win money talking about bugs?!?!).
More information on the survey, including contact info, is below.
About the Survey
Vineland Research and Innovation Centre (VRIC) has been conducting research on biocontrol for a number of years. They need your help to make sure their research program is making a real difference to growers in Canada. Even if you aren’t using biocontrol, your feedback is still important! VRIC is collecting feedback from the greenhouse industry about pest management programs to determine if their research has been useful and where they should direct their future research. Your participation in this survey will ensure that their future research gives the greatest possible benefit to greenhouses in Canada.
We understand that this is a busy time of year for greenhouse production and that your time is valuable. This brief survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. For your convenience, you can fill out the Ornamental Grower version of the survey online at: http://remote.vinelandontario.ca:8080/eq/r1/ppebw.
A Vegetable Grower survey is planned for a later date.
The survey should be completed by the person responsible for the pest management program at your facility. Respondents will be entered into a random draw where the winner will receive $400 worth of products from their favourite biocontrol supplier.
If you prefer to respond to the survey over the phone, you can contact Jessie de Haan (Research Technician – Biocontrols, VRIC) at Jessie.deHaan@vinelandresearch.com or 905-562-0320 x210. “
